Artist Bio
Ben is a free lanced percussionist based in Chicagoland. With a background in classical percussion and drum set performance, Ben prides himself in his ability to fluidly transition between several styles of music.
An active member of the musical theater pit scene in and around Chicago, Ben has performed for professional regional theaters since 2019. During the 2021 and 2022 summer season, Ben was a resident musician for the storied Timber Lake Playhouse. Most recently, Ben has performed with the Theo Unique Cabaret Theater, The Childrens Theater of Winnetka, and Drury Lane Theater. A list of productions Ben has performed with are: The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, Passing Strange, Baked!, and Assassins (Theo Unique Cabaret Theatre), Jesus Christ Superstar, Ain't Misbehavin', Legally Blonde, Man of La Mancha, Pippin, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Dear Edwina, The Robber Bridegroom, Escape to Margaritaville, Annie (Timber Lake Playhouse).
In the realm of pop/folk music, Ben has performed drum set, guitar and piano alongside several artists and bands. Ben can be heard in recordings by Sarah Drubin, War Is Over and Jo's Corner and has shared the stage with vocalist Ellie Banke. Ben is also active as a singer songwriter under his given name Ben Heppner.
